SCENAR Therapy

SCENAR (Self Controlled Energo Neuro Adaptive Regulator) is a healing device that looks like a TV remote control unit and was invented in Russia over 25 years ago for the benefit of staying on space station Meer Russian astronauts as they were not allowed to take pharmacological drugs or any medication whilst in space.

The device has a screening and therapeutic 2-in-1 mode of operation that allows to establish a two-way communication with the nervous system. It has ability to stimulate and re-educate the nervous system by communicating reparative signals between the areas of energy flow blockages in the body and the brain thus encouraging self-healing process.

New generation of SCENAR-type devices such as DENAS* (Dynamic Electro Neuro Adaptive Stimulator) and DIADENS* had been developed in Russia more recently. The device itself does not actually treat anything but rather prompts the body to accelerated self-healing. Applications of these devices had been successful in:

  • sports injuries
  • neurological pain of any origin
  • autoimmune disorders
  • asthma
  • hypothyroidism
  • adrenal fatigue
  • fibromyalgia
  • GERD
  • beauty therapy

    and many other conditions

This type of therapy is referred as an Electrical Neuro Stimulation or Electroreflexology and involves stimulation of the appropriate skin areas with electric impulses producing similar to a TENS-machine sensation on the skin. Action of Scenar is via cutaneovisceral reflex channels discovered by Head and Mackenzie resulting in favourable changes of cellular membrane potential and cellular function.

Your practitioner will place electrodes on the desired skin area and then will select the required frequency and set the most comfortable for you amplitude. Once the electrodes are in continuous contact with the skin, your practitioner may start moving these over the required skin area or may keep it there still.

The energy level of treatment is determined individually because every person has his own pain threshold level. It is recommended to have a course of at least six treatment sessions in cases of chronic conditions. Each session takes 20-30 minutes and is administered in comfortable sitting or lying down position.

Contraindications to Scenar/Diadens therapy include:

  • Individual intolerance to electric current impulses
  • Implanted pacemaker
  • Epileptic seizure
  • Neoplasm of any etiology and localisation
  • Deep venous thrombosis
  • Fever of unknown etiology
  • Alcohol or drug intoxication state
  • Recent antibiotic, antihistamine, strong pain killer or steroid therapy (for testing purpose only)

    Before Scenar/Diadens therapy session:

Try to avoid hypnotherapy, massage or any manual therapy treatment such as osteopathy, chiropractic etc. and reduce uptake of any medication if possible at least for one day prior to the treatment session. It is not advisable to have sauna, bath or shower at least two hours before the treatment session, as well as applying any makeup or skin care products on body and face. The clothes worn for the treatment session to be of natural fabric such as cotton, linen, bamboo, silk and wool (synthetic fabrics are not advisable).

Immediate positive signs of treatment effectiveness include slight skin redness, tingling sensation, feeling of warmth, falling asleep. Sings of symptom subsidence occur from one to six weeks period of time after treatment course completion, often via temporary worsening stage. Acute conditions may take only 2-3 treatment sessions to improve while chronic conditions may take longer with the treatment plan re-adjustment. Scenar/Diadens therapy is compatible with any pharmaceutical drug therapy as well as with natural therapies such as homeopathy, homeomesotherapy, herbal and Bach flower therapy.

Best results for recovery from sports injury and for musculoskeletal pain management can be achieved with combination therapy that includes Scenar therapy followed by mesotherapy (either conventional or needle-free mesotherapy depending on patient's preference). Scenar glove massage and Dry Needling treatment could be included at practitioner's discretion. Price per 1- to 1.5-hour individually tailored session GBP 120.00.

Auxiliaries to Scenar/Diadens therapy include Dens-goggles attached to the device for correction of the eye site and for improvement of ophthalmologic conditions such as senile cataract. Special shield-blanket OLM-1 is available for home use for treatment results stabilisation and to prevent new symptoms development in the future (to be wrapped around the body for 20 min a day). Electroconductive gloves available as attachment to the devices enabling gentle pain relieving massage on the injured sites or the areas that are too small or too sensitive to be treated with electrode application.

    * The names Scenar and Diadens/Denas refer to DENAS MC Corporation devices (which operate on the same principles and were developed in the same country (Russia) but by different organisations) as well as Scenar-NT original devices. Scenar-Proton device served as prototype for DiaDens/Denas devices which are now certified in EU by MDC Medical Device Certification GmbH and EUROCAT Institute as class II medical devices (CE marked with number).
